Virginia Lee 1927 - 1990Virginia Lee was born on 27 June 1927 in Port Elizabeth. Lee was a South African singer of light music. She was best known for hits including Goodbye my love (her biggest hit), I will never forget you, You are my darling, Two White doves and Green Wheat countries.
Lee is one of South Africa's most popular singers of light music in the 50s, 60 and 70 considered. She was also the first singer in South Africa who won a gold plate prize, the first that issued a solo LP and the first South African to have a plate issued in England. Sadly Lee passed away on 07 January 1990 in Houghton, Johannesburg.
